A-to-Z of Encouraging Homeschool Moms: Faith, Friendship, and Perseverance
If you’re a homeschooling mom, you probably know at least a dozen others who look a lot like you: tired, messy hair, coffee cup in hand, and maybe a dazed look in their eyes. If that doesn’t describe you today, count your blessings! Homeschooling is a privilege, but it’s also hard work. Yes, I said it—it’s work. Like any job, there are good days and bad days, triumphs and tears, laughter and stress.
That’s why I created this series: to offer encouragement for the tough days and to celebrate with you on the good days. My prayer is that through these posts you’ll be reminded you are not alone, that your efforts matter, and that God Himself is walking with you on this journey.
Three Ways We’ll Be Encouraged
The posts in this series will fall into three main categories: how homeschooling makes you feel, how you perceive others, and what God says in His Word. Together, these perspectives will help us walk with greater confidence and joy.
1. How Homeschooling Makes You Feel
Homeschooling can be an emotional roller coaster. Some days you feel on top of the world, and other days you’re convinced you’re failing miserably. In this series on encouraging homeschool moms, we’ll talk about things like:
- Can I do this? (Yes! You can homeschool. God equips you for what He calls you to do.)
 - Shining Jesus in your home. (You long to reflect His light in your children’s lives.)
 - Guiding children toward righteousness. (It’s heartbreaking when they wander, but God gives us strength to keep pointing them back to Him.)
 - Staying zealous for what is good. (Each small victory fuels the courage to press on to the next challenge.)

2. How You Perceive Others
It’s so easy to compare ourselves to other homeschooling families. Social media, co-ops, or even chance conversations at church can make us feel inadequate. But appearances rarely tell the full story. In these posts, we’ll explore topics such as:
- Confessing our imperfections. (Those “perfect” homeschool moms? They have struggles, too.)
 - Facing opposition with grace. (From the skeptical relative to the stranger at the grocery store, we’ll talk about how to respond well.)
 - Encouraging moms at every stage. (Even seasoned homeschoolers who are nearing the finish line need reminders that their work matters.)

3. God’s Instructions and Promises
Ultimately, the strength to homeschool doesn’t come from within us—it comes from God and His Word. Scripture will be the foundation of this entire series, reminding us of His promises:
- The Lord will fight for you. (You don’t face opposition or doubt alone.)
 - Instruction is life! (Daily time in Scripture refreshes your soul and equips you to teach.)
 - Nations will be affected. (The seeds you’re planting in your children today will bear fruit in generations to come.)
 - Lead a quiet life. (You don’t need to be well-known or constantly busy to make a difference in God’s Kingdom.)

My Homeschool Journey
After 24 years of homeschooling, I’ve completed the journey with my children. Along the way, I discovered one of the greatest blessings: I was never alone. Other moms encouraged me when I needed it most, and God consistently showed Himself faithful.
No matter where you are—just starting out, midway through, or nearing the end—I pray these posts will give you courage, strength, and peace. And I hope you’ll not only receive encouragement but also share it. A kind word, a listening ear, or even sharing a post like this one may be exactly what another mom needs today.
From A to Z
This series is not about me being an expert. It’s about offering encouragement from Scripture, stories, and lessons learned along the way. Each post will focus on a letter of the alphabet and a theme related to homeschooling.
You can:
- Read them in order or skip around to the topics that speak to you.
 - Find them easily by searching for “A to Z” on this site.
 - Share them with your homeschooling friends.

Most importantly, pray about who you can encourage today. Then follow the Holy Spirit’s prompting to reach out. Your words may be exactly what another homeschooling mom needs to keep going.
Final Thoughts
Homeschooling is not an easy path, but it is a rewarding one. You don’t have to do it perfectly—you simply have to be faithful. Through this series, I hope you’ll be reminded that God sees your effort, that your children are worth the investment, and that encouragement is never far away.
From A to Z, my heart is to cheer you on, point you to Christ, and remind you that you are not walking this journey alone.
